It is never
too late to begin! Don’t let age or circumstances of life deceive anyone into
believing that is too late to begin. There is no magic age at which excellence
emerges or when quality surfaces.
You are old
when you stop learning either at 20 or 80 years old says one of the wise men. Let
look at it from these two angles;
First, we
think we are too young to be an Hero or make impact. Consider the following;
Alexander the great, at 32years in 323 B.C.E
he conquered kings and made Greece the fifth World power. Gen. Yakubu Gowon was
30 years and unmarried when he became the Military Head of State in Nigeria.
Charles Dickens was 25 years when he wrote his famous book Oliver Twist. Sir Isaac
Newton was 24years when he formulated Law of gravity.
Second, we
sometime think that creativity and invention belongs to the young, check this
out; the patriarch Abraham ministry started at the age of ninety. Michelangelo
painted his masterpiece between the ages of 71-89.
Ever heard
of the eighteen/forty/sixty rule? When you are eighteen, you worry about what
everybody’s thinking about you. When you are forty, you realize that it doesn’t
really matter what they think about you. When you are sixty, it dawns on you
that most of them weren’t thinking about you at all.
In most
cases age don’t necessarily make us better, often it makes us rigid in our
approach to life.
