Magic Rule of -
Nobody gets anything
carelessly, you have to work seriously towards achieving your goal. There is
the tendency that for the first few weeks you are seriously committed to achieving
your goal. Suddenly, your zeal slows down and you feel reluctant to continue.
Incorporating a new lifestyle or stopping an
old bad habit could be a daunting challenge, but there is a rule that can help
you change easily and permanently.
The magic rule
believes that for a new behavior to crystallize into a habit, one had to
perform the new activity for twenty-one days in a row. Once you are able to practice
the new activity for twenty-one days straight, it will become part of you for
life like brushing your tooth every morning.
According to Robin S. Sharma in his book: The
monk who sold his Ferrari “The only way to permanently install a new habit is
to direct so much energy towards it that the old on slips away like an
unwelcome house guest.
The installation is
generally complete in about twenty-one days, the time it takes to create a new
neural pathway.”
With persistence and commitment no goal or
dream is impossible.
